I, the penis, hereby request a raise in salary for the following reasons:
  1. I do physical labor
  2. I work at great depths
  3. I plunge head first into everything I do
  4. I do not get weekends off or public holidays
  5. I work in a damp environment
  6. I don't get paid overtime
  7. I work in a dark workplace that has poor ventilation
  8. I work in high temperatures
  9. My work exposes me to contagious diseases
  10. My owner often chokes you and shakes you till you throw up
  11. I get suffocated in a rubber balloon and THEN plunged into dark tunnels repeatedly, again until you throw up

Yours truly, Penis

Dear Penis,

After assessing your request, and considering the arguments you have raised, the administration rejects your request for the following reasons:
  1. You do not work 8 hours straight
  2. You fall asleep on the job after brief work periods
  3. You do not always follow the orders of the management team
  4. You do not stay in your allocated position, and often visit other areas
  5. You do not take initiative - you need to be pressured and stimulated in order to start working You leave the workplace rather messy at the end of your shift
  6. You don't always observe necessary safety regulations, such as wearing the correct protective clothing
  7. You'll retire well before reaching 65
  8. You're unable to work double shifts before you have completed the day's work
  9. Your best friends and neighbours are nuts
  10. And if that were not all, you have been seen constantly entering and leaving the workplace carrying 2 suspicious looking bags.

Sincerely, The Management

I am so bored.. Forgive me for this boliao joke.

I have to admit answering calls and making them has NOTHING to do with BIT! What's the use of learning Java when the computer already has programmes for us to use? What's the use of learning networking when the only networking thing i do in M1 is connecting the earphone-cum-microphone to the phone. What's the use of learning Dreamweaver when M1 does not even have access to the internet!! For me, its just a waste of time. While its true that we may develop some selling skills and other telephony skills while in M1, i think it won't help us much to make us more employable in the eyes of our future employers.

Then every single day we have to listen to customers complaining about M1 service and some of us even have to bear being verbally abused by the customers. I had one such customer on Friday. Damn sian.. Not happy then don't take up offer la. I already said he don't need to take up the offer today what.. Still scold me for telling him promotion ends today, and saying that we forcing him to take the offer. CB.. I don't even get to say anything much because he kept saying "You don't have to say anything, i don't want to listen." CB... Then after that hang up. Fuck his mother la.. Spoil my day only..

SIgh... 4 weeks to go....

2 weeks has passed liao.. Training is finally over. Now we have to go on to make "live" calls to the customers. The first time was really nerve wreaking man.. So "gabra" and i stutter so much. But after sevral, i got the hang of it and it wasn't so bad now. Its just that, customers, when they get difficult, i will start to panic!

Nothing much interesting about the job ah. Just have to be careful of difficult customers. And the long working hours is really a torture man.. Imagine having to sit in your chair for hours straight.. of course you can get up and go for a drink or toilet break. But then again, we have targets to meet..

5 more weeks to go.. Counting down..

Wa.. Sian.. I not feeling well today man.. Been feeling sick since yesterday. It's all YOUR fault M1!! Another day has pass, i hate to say this but time really pass damn slowly during work..

I miss school already! No long lectures, long breaks, cool friends to hang around with.. SIgh.. Long way to go before this torture ends..

Well, today we touched on the various service plans that M1 offers. And damn it is so bloody complicating ok! Also we were taught about requirements and all those sh!t we need to show when applying for line.

Whole day i was feeling really sick and weak. I got an MC from the doctor, but i am not sure whether i should come to work tmr.. I really hate the training.... but it would mean my grades may get affected if i nvr turn up. I am down with a fever and gastric pains/ stomach pain. And my head is going to split man.. SO HOW?

Give me some advice people..

Day 1: The Training

First day of work is BORING. Boring is an understatement but i can't find other words to describe it anyway. It isn't so bad, it's just boring.

Met Jun Hao before going to M1 together. Took bus from Jurong East Mrt. Stupid driver don't know how to tell us when to drop. Idiot. So we end up having to walk to M1. Lucky it was not so far.

Everyone was damn quiet ah. Sian. Maybe its just that we all had to wake up damn early to come to work so everyone was feeling lethargic.

We went through some ground rules, expected attire(DAMN it's office attire..), procedures all those stuff. Then we proceed on to the building opposite, M1 World or something like that. This is where the call centre for M1 is.

Joanna is our supervisor. She looked like my history teacher in secondary school! Only slimmer, and without the hamster like teeth. Wahahaha! Jk.

First day, they teach us some telephone skills, how to answer questions, how to ask questions, all those basics. When she told us there will be a test we were like OMG! TEST?! Worse, we had to get minimum 80% to attain a pass. Shocking but she say its possible. I HOPE ah if not i rather jump into the river beside the M1 building!

Sian... Tmr still need to wake up so early again..

To be continued..
